With different experiences and various background of interest, we work across multi-disciplinary fields with a purpose of creating community wellbeing and living experiences from the inside out, both domestically and internationally. Alternative Universe collaborates with people who seek alternative ways of developing & managing their properties, brands and lifestyle products & services. We do believe in working to achieve the individual’s goal by involve the kind-participation of ourselves, clients and people in favour of something phenomenal.

 

Patavee Viranuvat, the Corporate Leader of Alternative Universe Co., Ltd. found his passion in Social Infrastructure Development since he realized that it is one of only a few solutions to disrupt Thailand’s development obstacle. After completing his Master Degree from Graduate School of International Management, International University of Japan he found Alternative Universe Co., Ltd. along with its subsidiaries like Projectionist ASIA and Season Maniac which stimulate and defy the nation’s original development policy with the project like DTC (Double-Twin Cities Project). The company and its original projects have been recognized as the one of the most challenging initiatives and unique pioneer in the region.

 

In February 2019, Slure Project - the latest alternative space located in Sathorn had its project commissioning for public as an initial prototype to transmit the Corporate’s mission via offline interaction instead of getting lost in an online communication era.

SEASON MANIAC (Est. 2015) 

A new community gathered with mutual vision and belief to develop a better society​.​ Season Maniac (SM) is a partner system which allow all members to collaborate, learn, and exchange each strength & capability in order to create a better society.  Season Maniac concentrates on international collaboration projects related to social infrastructure-based & Infrastructure-based development. Its focus was inspired by the global change, and human movement. The first pilot project called "Doubled-Twin Cities Project" was launched in Sapporo on 16 September, 2015 at CAI02 (Contemporary Art Institute, Sapporo) with the support of Satoshi Hata. 

PROJECTIONIST ASIA (Est. 2015)  

Projectionist ASIA is a contemporary Art & Culture Management, Co-Financing platform focusing in Asia. ​Our inspiration is from people & our passion is in Contemporary Design, Art, Culture, Cinema, Music, Literature. Our aim is to establish a strong foundation for young Designers, Artists, Authors, in Asia. With the believe in the future of Asian Culture, our team is flexible to all experimental & creative projects. We are interested in new project development and seeking for potential partners in Asia and around the globe. 

Projectionist ASIA (PA) is one of the most important pillars of 'ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE Co., Ltd.' an International Social Infrastructure Development Company based in Bangkok, Thailand. 

 

Founded by Patavee Viranuvat, Co-Founder & CEO of Alternative Universe Co., Ltd. together with other investors, collectors throughout Asia and Europe, Projectionist ASIA in its early years has been supporting and encouraging Cinematic Arts & Visual Arts projects in Asia including Art Projects, Artists, Art Events, Cinema Events. 

 

The aim is to "Discover & Encourage" an emerging talents which inspired from Mr. Kim Ji-seok' and many other who sacrifice their life for what they believe.

EXPLODING CINEMA WORKSHOP Chiang Mai, Thailand by Apichatpong Weerasethakul

Viranuvat worked as a Project Manager for Apichatpong Weerasethakul for a 5-week,12-student filmmaking workshop from Geneva University of Art and Design’s Cinema Department in collaboration with Christelle Lheureux.


PRIVATE REALM Chiang Mai, Thailand by Apichatpong Weerasethakul
January 2011
Viranuvat promoted and co-produced with Chiang Mai University’s Department of Physics and Materials Science the Film Screening and Artist Talk containing rare, censored or personal works by Apichatpong Weerasethakul called Private Realm of Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The screening was developed by Weerasethakul as a fundraising forum for Doi Saket International Film Festival.


TIGER EYES Ayutthaya, Thailand
December 2010
Viranuvat worked as Assistant Director and Production Co-ordinator. for this film, directed by Frank Scheffer with Melle Van Essen as a Cinematographer and Annemiek Van Der Hell as a Line Producer. Featuring segments from Abbas Kiarostami, Abderahmane Sissako, Jim Jarmusch, Michael Haneke, Wim Wenders, and Rual Rutz, Tiger Eyes had its world premiere at Rotterdam International Film Festival 2011. Viranuvat was in charge of Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s visual contribution to the film.


AXA PARIS Hong Kong; Bangkok and Samutsongkram, Thailand
November 2010
As Assistant Director and Production Co-ordinator in AXA Paris, Viranuvat worked with Roland Mouron (Cinematographer), Rafael Ferre Sentis (Director), and Christophe Arnaud (Producer).


JENESYS ARTIST Sapporo and Tokyo, Japan April-July 2010
Viranuvat received a grant from Japan Foundation Tokyo and Japan Foundation Thailand to direct the documentary Ofukuronikanpai (แม่ครับหมดแก้ว) at Sapporo Artist in Residence (S-AIR) on Hokkaido in northern Japan for 3 months. The Film had its dual-city Japanese Premiere in Sapporo (Interxcross Creative Center) and Tokyo (3331 Arts Chiyoda as well as Super Deluxe).


SCHOOL FOR LIFE Doi Saket, Thailand
January 2009-January 2010
Viranuvat served as a Head of International Language Department and Guest Relations Manager at School for Life, Chiang Mai. SFL, a school established by Dr. Jürgen Zimmer, Free University in Berlin, is a year-round boarding school for 250 orphans from marginalized hill tribe communities. In addition to facilitating art appreciation activities and overseas volunteer programs, Viranuvat also sought out and organized residencies for the visiting expert program, where professionals and artists would join SFL community for a short term to run workshops with the students. 


PRODUIRE AU SUD Bangkok, Thailand
November 2008
Viranuvat’s feature length experimental documentary, Stratosphere, was one of six Southeast Asian projects selected for a Fund Raising Workshop during World Film Festival of Bangkok. The workshop was supported by Nante Film Festival and the Alliance Française Bangkok, World Film Festival of Bangkok.


AFA 2008 Pusan, South Korea
October 2008
Viranuvat was selected by to (AFA) Asian Film Academy during Pusan International Film Festival to direct a short film with another sixteen nationalities from Asian Countries, and was mentored by Hou Hsiao Hsien, Brillante Mendoza, and Arthur Wong.


FIRST IMPRESSION Bangkok, Thailand
September, 2008
Viranuvat worked as Assistant Director for the Paris Film Production Company ‘Le Standard’ and Thai film Director Nonzee Nimitbutr’s ‘Cinemasia.’ The film was produced by Christophe Arnaud, directed by Nigel Bennett, and with Gordon Spooner as a cinematographer. The project starred Elli Medeiros, Serge Riaboukine, and Chatree Saleewong.


PECHA KUCHA 2008 Bangkok, Thailand
Year 2008
Virunavat was selected to be one of 20 speakers for the event showing 20 portraits of people with whom the artist has lost contact. Pecha Kucha was held at Thailand Creative & Design Centre in Bangkok.

Virunavat worked as a Second Assistant Director for Co-Production for international film project (Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand) directed by Ekachai Urkrongtham. The Coffin starred Karen Mok, Ananda Everingham, Andrew Lin, Aki Shibuya, and Napaka Nakpasit.


BANGKOK INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Thailand
October 2007
Virunavat worked as the assistant to Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Chief Officer of Bangkok International Film Festival and Director of International Public Relation Division. Viranavat coordinated all official invitations, flight arrangements, and accommodation for Filmmakers, Actors, Juries, and Press. 


WORLD L.P.G. GROUP CO., LTD. Bangkok, Thailand
December 2005 - Present 
As Assistant Marketing Manager, in charge of Purchasing Bunker, Virunavat monitored bunker consumption for 18 international and local pressurized vessels. The company focus on providing liquefied pressurized gas by marine transportation, and Virunavat organized logistic with local bunker suppliers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Indonesia. World L.P.G. Group Co., Ltd. was a leading L.P.G. trader in Asia Pacific.


TAKESHI Queensland, Australia
October, 2005
Virunavat was a Scriptwriter and Director of Takeshi, Winning ' The Best Tertiary Drama Film Award, The David Copping Production Design Award, the Excellent in Editing Award from Queensland New Film Maker Award by Pacific Film & Television Commission. The film was selected as the Final Official Selection in Outstanding Artistic Ability in Film making for the Young Thai Artist Award 2006 by Siam Cement Foundation, and the same year it was selected in the Final Official Selection in Lat Pestanyee Award, by Thai Film Foundation 2006.
