On Saturday, March 27, 2021. Neilson Hays Library hosted "Talk & Share" Khon : The Human Body : Embodiment, Knowledge Management.

About the event:

Khon : The Human Body : Embodiment, Knowledge Management โครงการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้จากศิลปะการแสดงโขนและร่างกายศึกษา
The traditional Khon dance has over centuries accumulated a body of knowledge which enables the Thai theatre to create a dramatic art of great sophistication. In 2018 the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) listed the Khon as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Khon: the Human Body: Embodiment probes into the history, artistry, and beliefs intrinsic to the traditional performative Khon masks, and presents this cultural knowledge to the modern-day audience in an accessible way. Than Phu Ying Sirikitiya Jensen has commissioned Jitti Chompee, the founder of the 18 Monkeys Dance Theatre and the Unfolding Kafka Festival, who has worked extensively in local and international performance art scenes, to conduct research and create artistic content under the Silpakorn Knowledge Management (KM) Project of 2020 which leads into Jitti’s new creations and lecture demonstrations in 2021.
